LETS CELEBRATE 50 YEARS WITH OVER $50,000 IN CASH AND PRIZES!!
Wallsend Diggers, your club, is turning 50, the building that is. So let’s celebrate a milestone. How about some cash and prizes? How about $50,000 worth? That’s exactly what we are doing. Check out the promotions in this issue of the magazine to see how you, the member, can win. June will be a huge month for promotions. There is an opportunity to win plenty so make sure you are here throughout June and the best of luck to all members.
DINING
As from 8 June 2010, there will be some changes made to the Menu in both the Diggers Brasserie and the News Cafe. The introduction of a Winter Menu will see the likes of Lamb Shanks and other winter warmer favourites on the menu. The $10.90 specials will still be available in the Brasserie, Monday to Thursday Lunch and Dinner. The Brasserie Salad and Vegie Bar will be taken away so we can improve the quality of your dining experience. Chips and Salad or Vegetables will be served by our staff.
Some new items such as Pizza and Coopers Pale Ale are being introduced. Three choices of Pizza with a Schooner of Coopers Pale Ale for only $15. Available Fridays and Saturdays lunch, dinner and late night eats. How about a mixed grill or rump steak in the News Cafe Monday and Tuesday nights for only $15. Great value. There are more specials available so come along and take a look.
ENTERTAINMENT
There is an absolute stack of entertainment for you to enjoy at Wallsend Diggers. The return of Dirty Dicks, Christmas Dinner Shows, Monthly Concerts, Kid’s Discos, School Holiday Entertainment, Friday and Saturday Night Entertainment. The list goes on. Check out all the entertainment inside the magazine and book yourself a night out at your club.
ANZAC DAY
Congratulations to the RSL on the celebration of Anzac Day 2010. A special thanks to the Board of Directors, all staff who worked on the day and a special thanks to the Wallsend RSL Sub Branch. It truly is a special day of the year and it was great to see a large attendance from members and the community for the march and service.
THE YEAR AHEAD
The year ahead is another challenging one and we all look forward to it. In 2007 your club lodged a development application to Newcastle City Council for the construction of an overhead walkway (enclosed bridge) from the car park to the Club. This was approved with conditions. The Board of Directors has now approved to obtain structural drawings and quotation for building with a view to have construction underway sometime in the near future. What a fantastic addition to the facilities at your club. Access will be very easy, you will keep dry in wet weather and you will be safer crossing the road in to the Club.
Wallsend Diggers just gets better.
